Stride Submits Proposal to Join Gold Coast’s New Shared E-Bike Scheme

Gold Coast, QLD — Stride is pleased to announce the submission of our proposal for the City of Gold Coast’s Shared E-Bike Scheme tender (Contract No. LG314/411/26/001).

As the Gold Coast builds on the success of its current scheme, this new contract will select future operators to deliver a modern, safe, and sustainable shared e-bike service across the city.

The Gold Coast has seen strong uptake of shared e-bikes since launching its program in 2020, with around 80,000 trips taken each month. The next phase of the scheme will see the city focus on improved user experience, community integration, and long-term operational quality.

Stride’s commitment to the Gold Coast

As a Canberra-based, 100% Australian-owned startup, Stride is purpose-built for cities like the Gold Coast. We bring a fresh and practical approach to shared active transport, with safety, accessibility, and user trust at the core of our operations.

Advanced safety features

Non-optional helmet detection, geofenced slow zones, and optional in-app impairment checks help keep both riders and pedestrians safe.

Smart parking and system integration

We offer flexible hybrid parking (virtual and physical) with clear in-app guidance, real-time data tracking, and integrations to complement public transport networks.

Community and equity focus

Pricing models designed for local workers, students, and low-income users, with local partnerships that promote awareness, safety, and inclusion.

Environmental responsibility

A modern, zero-emission fleet built for Australian conditions — with long-range batteries, safe speeds, and sustainable deployment practices.

About the tender

The Gold Coast’s new e-bike contract will replace the current scheme and expand shared cycling options across the city. Successful operators will be expected to deploy a minimum of 75% of their approved fleet ahead of a July 2026 launch, with local operations, safety measures, and data transparency all central to the contract’s objectives.
