Stride prepares submission for ACT Government’s updated shared E-Scooter and E-Bike program
Canberra, ACT
Stride is preparing to submit a proposal for the ACT Government’s renewed shared micromobility program, with applications for e-scooter and e-bike permits officially opening on 2 July 2025.
The Territory’s new three-year permit cycle signals a refreshed direction for shared mobility in the ACT. With shared e-scooters already a familiar part of Canberra’s transport landscape since 2020, and pedal bikes having operated from 2018 to 2023, the updated program includes a greater focus on safety, integration, accessibility, and community-driven outcomes.
For the first time, it will also open the door to shared e-bikes, providing longer-range and lower-barrier options for a broader group of riders.
